Green Glass Garden

Today was a great Sunday! Although it pained me to sacrifice a day on the beach, I decided to enrich myself and take a trip to the Chihuly exhibit at the MFA. Chihuly is a glass blower who has some amazing brightly colored pieces. The three most fascinating things I found out about Chihuly today are that one, he has only one eye and wears and eye patch; two, he doesn't like using tools while he works and three, the reason why this show continues to impress and bring back so many repeat customers is because the art work does not have a specific way that it needs to be put together or a showing. Meaning that every time you come back for a different show, the exhibit will feel much different; I've provided an example below to fully understand. Here are some of my favorite pictures from today, not bad for an iPhone, forgot my camera in the car! (I'll post all of my pictures on my other blog specifically for pictures.) Check it out and definitely head over to the MFA, its worth it!!

I thought this piece reminded me of a burning bush! Look at how it looked at today's exhibit compared to how it has appeared in the past, a completely different display!

No One Puts Babycakes in the Corner

I am so excited for my new baking gadget, Babycakes Cupcake Maker! I am so blessed to have such a generous family that my aunt bought me this just for kicks. I have had it for a couple weeks now but haven't given it much attention since I have been so busy. Sure enough the cute packaging was eyeing me down from across the room with that "No one puts baby[cakes] in the corner" look ... I knew I had to get to baking.

Essentially Babycakes is a company producing a line of "waffle-like" gadgets that makes baked goods quick and easy to whip up! The machine I have in my repertoire is specifically for cupcake making. According to their slogan, I can create 8 mini cupcakes in 8 minutes or under... What a great deal is that! This is absolutely perfect for the situation where using an oven is not an option or its a hot summer day and no one wants their house to be a furnace. All I can say is I know I am going to be extra popular next year in the Kappa house ... start putting in your orders sistas!

Last year I purchased a cupcake apron with matching oven mitts that I really have only got a chance to wear once. I love a good excuse for a new outfit ... I'll put cupcake baking on the to-do list. As you can see below the inside looks very similar to an apple-skiver machine, if anyone even knows what that is .. I alway seem to have random appliances popping up all over my kitchen, I blame Chef Linda. In other words, Babycakes Cupcake Maker seems very simple and straightforward to use, I am looking forward to this a great deal!

My Babycakes Cupcake Maker is a very dainty shade of lemon yellow. Right now the griddle is available in 3 or 4 different colors. I think that the red is also very eye catching and featured below. The exterior is very smooth with two helpful buttons on the face, one for the power and another to tell you when your treats are ready to eat!

See below the baking gadget in bright red! The large handle makes transporting or moving the Babycakes Cupcake maker around the kitchen hassle free.

Other Products in the Line: Cake Pop, Donut & Whoopie Pie Makers!

Stayed tuned for a blog on me actually using the machine in my fabulous cooking gear!!... I'll report back with lots of feedback and pictures!

Time Flies ...

Boy do I really miss blogging! Even though I haven't actually been writing that much this summer, I have been keeping a list of all the things I want to be writing about... from cupcake trucks to new OPI collections, I have so much that I want to share with everyone!! I know I cannot keep making excuses for not having the time but now I have added ANOTHER summer course to my list of priorities, Applied Quantum Modeling ... "Appliedquatumwhosie-whatsie what?" is the common response I seem to be getting ... Work, staying fit, 2 courses, friends, family & boyfriend on top of trying to maintain some kind of decent olive toned pigment, I never want to be inside on my computer! I literally never go on my computer anymore now that I have the iPhone and the browser is just as great...

Well anyway, although I have been working a lot, there are a few perks to working at a Yacht Charter company, especially when the weather is nice! Here are a few pictures from my adventures this summer as an event planning and marketing intern with the firm I am at.

At the bow of 77' Yacht Belle. She is so gorgeous! Too bad we only had her in our fleet for the first half of the summer, she left in June for Nantucket where she spends the rest of the summer at the Westmoor Yacht Club.

My other intern pal, Nicole, and I are aboard the Secret Love here!

We got a sneak peak at John Henry's $42 million yacht ... the Iroquois is quite luxurious!

The USS Constitution at Constitution Marina in Charlestown

Today's trip on the Night Rider, one of my favorite boats in the area!

Nicole and I posing with the 55' Night Rider

That's all for now folks ... Hang in there with me as I blog sparatically... I'm slowly making my comeback... !!

Congratulations Bruins!

I may not be a huge Bruins fan typically, but I always am a Boston believer! Congratulations to the Boston Bruins, breaking the 39 year streak. As I said earlier in the week, I am so lucky to have seen 3 Patriots, 2 Red Sox, 1 Celtics and 1 Bruins title in only the first 20 years of my life!! How many other places can say that?! I'm so excited for the parade tomorrow .. see you there Boston!

Pretty Girls, Dirty Secrets

Just when I thought  I could spend my summer reading books and not religiously attached to my DVR, I remembered my "summer shows" are back in action, *sigh*. Obviously I am secretly excited, but its just another addiction added on to the plate. Some may think I'm crazy "Ew she's totally obsessed with television"-- that's actually not the case at all. I just have a large love for a small amount of shows. Keeping up with the Kardashians came back last night, I'm very curious to find out how this Kris Humphries thing happened any way.. seems pretty random to me? In other news... when is Royal Pains returning, that's also a summer favorite. What you may ask, am I POSSIBLY doing with myself for 5 months suffering from Chuck Bass - Blair Waldorff scheming-love affair withdrawal ... I am happily eager to pass the time away watching PRETTY LITTLE LIARS.
When this series was prepping to premiere last summer on ABC family, I figured it was just another  bad sitcom that I probably would end up watching just because. I can honestly say that this show is phenomenal and achieves CW prime-time status.. Four pretty teenage girls with their own UNIQUE drama, coupled with their own mystery Gossip Girl type character "A" makes for a compelling hour of action packed TV.

If you haven't given Pretty Little Liars a chance I suggest you start this summer! There is a season 1 marathon all day tomorrow, Tuesday June 14th before the premiere at 8:00 PM (EST). For those of you who don't have the time to catch up but want to dive right in, or in case you need a quick refresher, see below for the last episode summary I sniped off the official website.

Whose your favorite character? Are you having a premiere party with your girlfriends?! I'll being watching tomorrow with my very own Spencer, Emily & Hanna (I'm Aria of course, I love Lucy Hale!)
Is anyone else obsessed with this advertisement?! I guess I truly am a marketing girl .

SUMMARY CATCH UP:
In the spring finale, the girls come together to finally uncover Alison’s killer and the identity of “A” – but things don’t go according to plan…putting all of their plans – and lives – in jeopardy.
The Little Liars confront Jenna about the incriminating video they found of her and Toby. When Jenna tells her story, she wonders what the girls are going to do with the video. They assure her they’ll keep it safe – but she won’t be getting it. Obviously upset, Jenna makes a secret phone call to IAN! He assures her he’ll take care of the situation. And another Jenna bombshell is revealed when we see her kissing Garrett the cop!
Meanwhile, Emily’s mom wants them to move out of Rosewood. Lucas is suspicious of Mona and what she had to do with Caleb leaving town. And later we see Lucas and Caleb in a car together! Plus, Aria gets some news that makes her very happy: because of a new teaching gig, Ezra quits Rosewood High School. Unfortunately, she isn’t as happy when she finds out he’ll be working with his former ex Jackie. What do you think this means for Ezra and Aria?
Sadly, Melissa and Spencer are in a car accident. Spencer is okay, but Melissa gets injured. While Spencer is busy with the aftermath of the accident, Hanna, Emily and Aria work on trapping Ian. They send him a text letting him know about the videos they acquired and wait for him to incriminate himself. But he never shows! Instead, he corners Spencer at the church – and it’s not a good situation at all. When Hanna, Emily and Aria get Spencer on the phone, they are able to hear her entire fight with Ian at the church. Knowing how much danger she’s in, they rush to save her. But someone gets there before them. A mysterious figure manages to save Spencer – while Ian falls and appears to be gravely injured.
Unfortunately, after the police arrive, Ian’s body is nowhere to be found. And Rosewood is left to wonder just how much truth our Pretty Little Liars have been telling.
Meanwhile, “A” assures the girls that this is far from over…

All Claws on Deck

Hello there blogger world! Why on earth haven't I been blogging? I feel like a piece of me is missing! I need to get back in the swing of things and I think I have finally got the hang of managing internship-class-social life- hobbies ... we'll see how it goes. In addition, I feel like I've been in a bit of a slump trying to not blog about the same stuff and keep things fresh. Sitting around my room, I've been dying to write but about what? I turned to a summer straw bag of mine with lobster detailing. Although I cannot stand to look at a real live lobster as popular as they may be up here in New England, I find this little critter to be so precious when made in to a print. Tommy Hilfiger and Vineyard Vines are known for their use of the crustacean among other typically preppy designers. Below is a collection of some of my favorite lobster pieces.

1. Betsey Johnson Necklace
2. Vineyard Vines Women's Skirt
3. Anthropologie Bikini
4. Vineyard Vines Men's Shorts
5. Tory Burch Espadrille
6. Kate Spade Purse
7. Tommy Hilfiger Bedding
8. Kate Spade Claw Key Chain

Please note my blog is under construction and may be changing the name in the following weeks!

Rainy Day Go To

NINE DAYS OF RAIN AHEAD!
Umbrellas up & throw on those hunters,
its going to be a long week

My rainy day go to outfit is pretty simple: black leggings, something comfortable from Ralph Lauren Rugby on top, knee high rain boots, and of course my staple pearl necklace and earrings. A trendy trench coat on top coupled with a designer umbrella to show off your sense of style, even in the rain, is key! I like to make sure on rainy days I am wearing a cute necklace and earrings, so even when I have my jacket on, I still have some sparkle. What is your go to rainy day outfit? Please share!Rainy Day Go To

Sailing into Summer

Sailing into Summer
Today's post is in honor of my first day of work yesterday with the yacht charter company I will be interning for as an event planning and marking associate. I had an amazing time at work and I am so excited for what the summer will bring. To add to my excitement, when I got home, the Summer 2011 Lilly Pulitzer catalogue was on the kitchen table! I feel like I was just looking at the spring patterns and they are already out with summer prints. How can a fashionista, or her bank account, possibly keep up!?

Considering the great day I had at work, my mind was on the ocean. The summer collection very much revolves around beach life with anchors, sailboats, shells, seagulls and the like. I absolutely love the whimsical pattern of Sail Away; it reminds me of Dr. Seuss in some ways. I wanted to make the Patty Dress an impulse purchase when I realized they won't be in stock until the end of May. Why do girls always want what they can't have?

Lilly Pulitzer Sail Away
I always say that accessories can make or break the outfit. A couple weeks ago, I saw one of my friends wearing lemony yellow TOM wedges. She had told me they are still in great condition after many years and lots of use, and are actually one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes she owns. This was music to my ears. Although I love a good heel, I rarely find a pair my feet actually thank me for wearing. Additionally, the wedge heel is a reasonable height and  much more practical for daily wear. I have been considering the possibility of buying a pair of these wedges from all of the great reviews, but haven't been able to decide on a color. Ultimately the black is the best multi-seasonal color, but the lemon and red are hard to resist. Although the sunny yellow gives the Lilly dress a calm and flirty look, the print would also look great with this bold pop of red, creating a more traditional preppy look.
Today is a beautiful day and perfect for this post! The other items featured in my above collection are featured below. How cute is the Marc Jacobs coin purse? The perfect nautical touch! I love the Polyvore website that makes putting together these collections so easy!

Tulip Tuesday

I have always loved brightly colored flowers, particularly the tulip. A couple of weeks ago when I was driving around Wellesley, I saw a house with two big ruby red beds of tulips. I was compelled to stop and snap a photo. This was only the beginning of my tulip adventures.

Since then, I have been seeing brightly colored tulips popping all over the place, causing a few almost near car accidents as I swerve around trying to get optimal viewing... kidding, sort of. I guess it IS true that April showers bring May flowers after all! I have become mesmerized by these flowers! They are able to make such a bold statement while maintaining a delicate nature simultaneously. This flower stands tall with their long green stems, setting themselves apart from other plants in a garden. Today I decided that I was going to start recording all the beautiful tulips I see all over, inspiring Tulip Tuesday. There is a potential this may become a weekly segment, depending on how often I get out on the town now that I've started working a full time internship; finding these tulips can take some extreme hunting. For certain look forward to more blogs on flowers!

Do you pass a patch of uncanning flowers daily? Send them in to alexandraglazer@verizon.net and you may be featured in a future blog post!

Here are some pictures from today's adventures that I snapped on my iPhone camera. Not bad quality for a phone camera! All pictures featured below are from Marblehead, MA.
